WHO IS IRISH STEEL?

The Irish Association of Steel Fabricators (IASF) is a Members Organization who work from The Certification Hub in Portlaoise. We are here to promote the steel industry in Ireland by providing guidance and assistance with all aspects of the industry. We promote Quality and Safety standards within the organization and to become a Members you must be certified or are in the process of implementing standards like EN-1090, ISO 9001. ISO 45001, ISO14001 and ISO 3834.

OUR MEMBERSHIP GOALS

Our Members have signed up to a “Code of Practice” for Assurance of Quality. Each Fabrication Company is Audited by a Certification Body or a Notified Body annually and IASF will undertake members assessment/reviews annually.

Each Member has or is working towards a Standard. We promote and encourage the following; ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001 EN ISO 3834 and EN 1090.

When you choose a Member to tender for or to execute a project, you can be assured that all due diligence has been carried out. We are also at the end of the phone and in confidence, can answer any reservations or queries that you may have.

Safety is at the top of our agenda. All members are committed to working to an acceptable health and safety plan and in accordance with relevant industry standards.

MEMBERSHIP CATEGORIES

Irish Steel has two membership categories, both open to individuals and organizations:

Manufacturers: Companies that manufacture steel products.

Erectors: Contractors that undertake steel erection and cladding.

Suppliers: Suppliers and manufacturers of sheeting, steel, fixings etc. to our industry.

Corporate: Detailers, Training Companies, Companies & Organizations that provide to us.

1 – 9 Employees  €420.00 
10 – 19 Employees €480.00
20 – 50 Employees €550.00
Corporate €900.00

Notes:
Membership is on an annual base. Membership is considered as One Company within a Group.

HOW TO JOIN?

To apply for an Irish Steel membership simply fill out our application form on our Apply For Membership page and we’ll be in touch.

MEMBERSHIP APPLICATION REQUIREMENTS

To become a member of Irish Steel all applicants are required to supply the following:

Provide a copy of their current insurance.

Provide a copy of their current Certification i.e., ISO / EN 1090 etc.

Complete relevant information contained on the IASF Application documents.

ADMISSION OF MEMBERS

The Membership Team will review applications received for membership and complete an appraisal form. When IASF considers the member fully verified, and their fees are paid, membership shall commence.

HOW ARE WE ACCOUNTABLE?

Personal data of Members shall be: 

  • Processed lawfully, fairly and in a transparent manner in relation to individuals and collected for only specified, explicit and legitimate purposes 
  • adequate, relevant and limited to what is necessary in relation to the purposes for which they are processed; 
  • accurate and kept up to date
  • kept in a form which permits identification of data subjects for no longer than is necessary for the purposes for which the personal data are processed; personal data may be stored for longer periods insofar as the personal data will be processed solely for archiving purposes in the public interest, scientific or historical research purposes or statistical purposes subject to implementation of the appropriate technical and organisational measures required by the GDPR in order to safeguard the rights and freedoms of individuals; and 
  • processed in a manner that ensures appropriate security of the personal data, including protection against unauthorised or unlawful processing and against accidental loss, destruction or damage, using appropriate technical or organisational measures.

Security 

  • IASF shall ensure that personal data is stored securely using modern software that is kept-up-to- date. 
  • Access to personal data shall be limited to personnel who need access and appropriate security should be in place to avoid unauthorised sharing of information. 
  • When personal data is deleted this should be done safely such that the data is irrecoverable. 
  • Appropriate back-up and disaster recovery solutions shall be in place.   
  • IASF member contact information is for IASF members’ personal use only. As stated in IASF ‘s Acceptable Use Policy found on the IASF members found to be using the IASF Membership Directory improperly will have their IASF membership revoked.

CODE OF CONDUCT FOR IRISH STEEL MEMBERS

Irish Steel members must agree to adhere to the following conditions:

Members will always conduct themselves in an ethical, responsible and respectable manner in all circumstances, in alignment with Irish Steel’s vision, principles and values.

Members are invited to use the Irish Steel logo to indicate their membership to Irish Steel. 

Irish Steel members do not represent The Irish Association of Steel Fabricators: Members will not act as official representatives, nor speak on behalf of and/or in the name of parts of or the whole association, unless otherwise stipulated in writing by the Board.

COMPLAINT & FEEDBACK MECHANISM

This is a Members Organization and we rely on members input to succeed. We do ask that members express their concerns and advise as to where you (the member) see the organization going.
